Summary of Event: Speakers at this event will discuss best practices to promote financial inclusion, such as working across multiple sectors. The agenda items include: (1) Financial Inclusion – a Catalyst For Economic Transformation and Inclusive Economic Growth; (2) Best Practice Features of National Financial Inclusion Strategies; (3) Women as Drivers of Financial Inclusion; (4) Regulatory Frameworks Conducive to Financial Inclusion; (5) Financial Inclusion in the Digital Era; (6) Women in the Digital Era; (7) Scaling Microfinance Institutions for Greater Impact; (8) Islamic Microfinance; and (9) Empowering Rural Communities Through Financial Inclusion. Background on Organizers: The event is organized by the Tanzania Association of Microfinance Institutions (TAMFI). TAMFI aims to support the capacity development of microfinance institutions in Tanzania through lobbying, advocacy, training, and the gathering and dissemination of information. The Coalition of Tanzanian Microfinance Practitioners and Service Providers Limited merged with TAMFI in July 2010. As of October 2016, it has 99 member institutions.
