Event Name: 2nd West African Microfinance Conference

Event Date: July 23-24, 2014

Event Location: The Miklin Hotel, Accra, Ghana 

Cost: The cost to attend the event is GHS 350 (USD 117) for Ghanaian participants and USD 250 for international participants.

Summary of Event: This conference will focus on the theme of “reducing extreme poverty through microfinance” and is designed to bring together West African financial policymakers, microfinance operators and other stakeholders in an effort to solve challenges faced by the microfinance sector. These challenges include low levels of: credit recovery, management skills, staff training and back-office technology.

About the Organizer: The conference will be hosted by the African Center for Peace Building (AFCOPB), which was established in 2009. AFCOPB is a Ghana-based NGO that works toward peace in Africa through conflict prevention, youth and educational development, peace education and poverty reduction. In addition to Ghana, AFCOPB also has operations in Sierra Leone.
