Event Name: 2013 Partnerships Against Poverty Summit

Event Date: October 9-11, 2013

Event Location: Philippine International Convention Center, Manila, Philippines

Cost: Event registration costs USD 500 for the general public and USD 450 for members of Microfinance Council of the Philippines Incorporated (MCPI). The fee for registrations completed after May 16, 2013, will increase to USD 650 for the general public and USD 600 for MCPI members. Student and group discounts are also available.

Event Summary: The summit will focus on the theme of partnerships among government, business and civil society. The mission is to eradicate extreme poverty and by bringing together experts from sectors such as microfinance, health, education and agriculture to provide sustainable and efficient services and infrastructure.

Background on Organizers:
The summit will be hosted by the Microcredit Summit Campaign, a program of the US-based advocacy NGO Results Education Fund, and MCPI, a network of 52 microfinance institutions, with the sponsorship of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the central banking institution of the Philippines. Other sponsors include Johnson & Johnson, a US-based company that manufactures consumer health products and conducts medical research in approximately 60 countries, and World Savings Banks Institute (WSBI), a Belgium-based association representing 112 savings and retail bank members operating in 89 countries.
