Trico Charitable Foundation, a Canada-based nonprofit, has announced that it is now accepting applications for the 2013 Social Enterprise Awards, which are to be presented at the 2013 Social Enterprise World Forum in October to Canadian for-profit and nonprofit social enterprises which are deemed by Trico to demonstrate “best practices, impact, and innovation.” The applicant pool will be divided into two categories depending on whether each enterprise has annual revenue plus assets of more than CAD 1 million (USD 977,000). The number of organizations receiving awards and the amount of each individual award was not disclosed, but the winning organizations will receive a share of approximately CAD 80,000 (USD 78,000) in total prize money. Additionally, each winner will be recognized at the 2013 Social Enterprise World Forum in Calgary, Canada, on October 2-4, 2013.

Founded in 2008, the Trico Charitable Foundation is a Canadian nonprofit that aims to promote social capacity building amongst social enterprises in Canada. As of 2013, the Trico Charitable Foundation has donated approximately CAD 2 million (USD 1.95 million) to various social enterprises in Canada.
