MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX) Releases 2009 Brazilian Microfinance Report

The nonprofit Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX) recently released the 2009 benchmarking report on the microfinance sector in Brazil, available in Spanish. The report, based on data collected from 27 Brazilian microfinance institutions (MFIs) and benchmarks compiled from the data of 332 Latin American MFIs, examines outreach, funding structure, financial performance and portfolio quality of the microfinance market in Brazil.

The report was produced by MIX with support from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), a Brazilian institution for higher education.

Information on the release of an English or Portuguese version of the report has not yet been made available.

Established in 2002, the Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX) is a nonprofit organization with headquarters in Washington, DC, and regional offices in Peru, Senegal, India and Indonesia.
