Applications are open through March 31 for the 2013 Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP), a program that grants scholarships for individuals to obtain master’s degrees in subjects related to economic development.  The program is funded by the government of Japan and the World Bank, a multilateral development institution. Applicants must be a citizen of a World Bank member country, be born after March 31, 1973, hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and have at least two years of professional experience to be eligible for JJ/WBGSP. Applicants should submit evidence of current admission to at least one related university master’s degree program in fields such as economics, health, education, agriculture, environment, natural resource management, or other development-related subjects. The number of scholarships that will be awarded has not been disclosed, but a total of 4,883 have been awarded in the 25 years since the program’s inception. The scholarships cover travel expenses, tuition, insurance and a monthly stipend for living expenses.
