MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Macedonia-based Aspekt to Supply Microfinance Software to Georgia-based Microlender Credit Plus

Aspekt, a Macedonia-based information and computer technology company, recently signed a deal to provide their microfinance portfolio management software tool, “Microfinance Software Solution,” to Credit Plus, a Georgia-based microfinance institution (MFI). The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Aspekt’s microfinance portfolio management product provides MFIs with features to track: individual and group lending, savings, deposits, social performance metrics, purchases, payments, sales, collections, human resources, payroll and credit scoring.

Credit Plus was founded in 2009 and has eight offices in Georgia through which it offers microfinance loans collateralized by real estate and gold. The company does not report to the US-based nonprofit Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX), and financial data on the firm are not otherwise available. Likewise, financial data for Aspekt are not available.

Founded in 2009, Credit Plus is a non-deposit taking microfinance institution that is headquartered in the Georgian city of Tbilisi. Credit Plus operates through eight offices in Georgia, offering loans secured by real estate and gold to consumers and small businesses in all regions of the country. The company typically lends from GEL 1,000 (USD 572) to GEL 50,000 (USD 28,600) for loans backed by real estate, and from GEL 100 (USD 57.2) to GEL 30,000 (USD 17,000) for gold-backed loans. Credit Plus does not report to the US-based nonprofit Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX) and financial data on the firm are otherwise unavailable.
