MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Cash Application Universal of Zimbabwe Launches Mobile Money Management Software

Cash Application Universal (Cash Application), a technology company based in Zimbabwe, reportedly has released CAPU, a “Windows-based mobile money management software”[1] that allows users to manage their use of mobile money.

The software enables users to create accounts to monitor usage of wages and cash balances and to track mobile money transactions. In addition to being offered to commercial firms, according to a quote attributed to Marshall Mumbure, the managing director of Cash Application, “the software also comes in a personal package for use by individuals or small proprietary businesses”[1].

Additional information regarding the software, including its retail cost and the mobile money services the software is compatible with, is unavailable. Financial information for Cash Application is not publicly available.
