Established in 1921, the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is the central bank of the Republic of South Africa.
Description:
SARB regulates commercial banks, cooperatives and non-bank financial institutions. There is no comprehensive national microfinance policy. However, the Government has acknowledged the role that microfinance can play in promoting development through the establishment of viable small and medium enterprises.
