The ACCION Investments in Microfinance, SPC fund (ACCION Investments) is a microfinance investment vehicle which mobilizes funds for microfinance institutions (MFIs).
Description:
ACCION Investments provides equity and quasi-equity financing to microfinance institutions (MFIs), which are retail micro-lenders. ACCION Investments’ investors include government entities and private investors, including the International Finance Corporation, the Belgian Investment Company, the Netherlands Development Institution, the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation Ltd., the Arthur Rock 2000 Fund, the Andromeda Fund, and Banco Centroamericano de Integracion Economica. ACCION Investments is managed by ACCION Investments Management Company, LLC, a subsidiary of ACCION International. Currently ACCION Investments’ portfolio consists primarily of equity investments in MFIs in Latin America and Africa, including ACCION Microfinance Bank LTD, Nigeria, Akiba Commercial Bank LTD, Tanzania, Banco Solidario S.A., Ecuador, BancoSol, Bolivia, Banco Popular Covelo, S.A., Honduras, Banco Vision, S.A. E.C.A., Paraguay, Columbia Microcreditos, S.A., Argentina, Eco ACCION Senegal, Senegal, Financiera FAMA, S.A., Nicaragua, Mibanco, Peru, and EB-ACCION Savings & Loans, Ghana. ACCION Investments has a parallel technical assistance facility with USD 2 million in commitments.
